Ararat Junction Signalling Project (AJSP)

ARTC on the ARTC NETWORK

ARTC, with assistance from ROS, are managing the project to complete the commissioning of signalling on the ARTC portion of the junction at Ararat, leading from the ARTC East-West main line to the V/Line operated Maryborough Line. The signalling upgrade also includes V/Line completing the V/Line portion of the commissioning.

Infrastructure to be commissioned include: updated and new signals, level crossings, motorised points, derail and catchpoints connecting the Maryborough Line to the ARTC Network, as well as a new CBI (Computer-Based Interlocking) and signalling system, with an updated TCS Phoenix workstation for both ARTC and V/Line.

MARKET SITE DEMOLITION

Symal Infrastructure on the ARTC NETWORK in the Port of Melbourne

The Port of Melbourne are undertaking a project to demolish the building at the Footscray Market Site located between Footscray Rd and the ARTC operated North Dock and South Dock main lines.
A number of the buildings to be demolished directly ‘abut’ the South Dock Line at a number of locations between the Dock Link Rd Level Crossing and the Footscray Rd Overpass.

ROS are supporting Symal with their access management and safeworking application during demolition works, using a staged approach to tackling the deconstruction work activities for the three warehouses adjacent to the ARTC Network.

FIBRE CABLE HAULING AND SPLICING

CableNet on the V/LINE NETWORK

CableNet are undertaking Fibre Cable Haul and Splicing at various stages along the Geelong Line..
This forms part of a new Fibre installation being undertaken by Subco.
The Fibre Cable Haul will be outside of the danger zone and will be under supervision using existing communications conduits with no impact to the rail traffic. The splicing will be undertaken within existing pits outside of the danger zone.
There will be specific locations where works will be within the danger zone, and a higher form of track protection will be applied at these locations.

ROS are heavily involved with coordinating the correspondence between V/Line, Subco and CableNet, third party access interface, managing works notifications and access applications, organising safworking and rail safety compliance.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWERS MAINTENANCE

SkyAus Infrastructure on the V/LINE NETWORK

SkyAus Infrastructure Pty Ltd are a communications company that undertake maintenance activities on Telecommunications Towers and are will require to undertake works on a several towers across the V/Line Network.
Works will be primarily undertaken using riggers within the fenced environment, sometimes needing to use an EWP dependent on site access requirements.

ROS have taken on the tasks of managing safeworking and gaining efficient access for work crews to perform their maintenance..
